Dr. Betty Jean Womack is the wife of the founding pastor of Milwaukee's Progressive Baptist Church, the Reverend Dr. Rolen Lewis Womack, Jr., which was organized October 26, 1988. Betty is a native of Galveston, Texas, an English graduate of  Huston-Tillotson College and earned her Masters of Education degree at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. She completed her administrative certification at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, and received her Doctorate of Education from Milwaukee's Cardinal Stritch University.

As First Lady of Progressive, Dr. Womack is the Director of Christian Education, actively working with new members in Foundations classes teaching the fundamentals of stewardship, common sense evangelism, salvation & belief, and commitment to membership according to the high standards of expectation at Progressive. She is also the past president of the HIV-AIDS ministry called W.I.N.G.S.

Dr. Womack has a strong commitment to the development of youth and the youth programs of Progressive.  Currently, as Director of Student Services at Beaver Dam School District, she exemplifies her dedication to youth on a daily basis.  As First Lady, she strives to continually foster the Christian development of the youth of Progressive by organizing and administering Vacation Bible School, Youth Outings to historic and scientific sites in neighboring Chicago, Illinois, and various Christian programs for Christmas and Black History Month celebrations.   She also organizes trips to rewarding and enriching sites across the country as annual church family vacations because of her strong belief in family unity and the sense of community guidance that is unique to the dedication of family development that is the "Progressive Family".

Dr. Womack is in great demand around her community with numerous invitations to serve as guest speaker or become a board member.  She is the past President of the Wisconsin Pastor's Wives Association, and the former Executive Board Member of the American Baptist Education of Wisconsin.

She is happily married to Dr. Rolen Womack Jr. and is the mother of two daughters: Cheray and Brooke.
